The pointy end

Well our senior cricket season is drawing to a close with the final round games this weekend.

This is how our devils stack up heading into the final round:

1st Grade-

Our boys are currently 2nd on the Poole cup ladder and will stay there no matter the outcome this weekend. They sit 12 points shy of 1st place Brothers so will be unable to catch them but are 18 points clear of 3rd place Walkerston. They can be assured a Poole cup finals spot. The boys take on Magpies this weekend to put in one last polished game. They are yet to find the perfect game with bat and ball both firing so they have 1 more game to come out guns blazing and take the game head on.

2nd Grade-

Our 2nds boys are sitting pretty in the top spot of the Poole cup competition 21 points clear of Sarina. After a season filled with comprehensive wins and dominant displays with the bat the boys had a slight hiccup last weekend with being a few players out. We all know our 2nds boys can’t be held down for long so look out this weekend for the bounce back of a champion team. They take on Brothers this weekend in their final game.

3rd Grade-

Like our 1st grade side the boys are locked in 2nd place unable to grab 1st spot but can’t be caught so will be locked into a finals spot. 3rds have had a mixed season but when they have won it has been by a big margin. Dominant batting this season has proven the difference for our 3rds team and put them head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. They take on Brothers this weekend in their final fixture and like all our side they will be looking to fine tune their performance before finals.

4th Grade-

Our 4’s boys sit currently in 4th spot with a 10 point difference between 3rd place eastern swans. They will be looking for a massive double bonus point win for them to have a crack at finals this year. The boys have come such a long way this season. They started out struggling to get a full side together and have turned around and came to be one of the most competitive teams in the comp. The boys will take on Walkerston this weekend at our club home ground Wren Street. Good luck on a big win this weekend boys.

Ladies Social 8’s-

A very close ladder for the social 8’s, our SheDevils are currently sitting in 2nd only 4 points behind first place Pioneer Valley and The Gunners are 2 points shy of third place Walkerston hens. So both teams will be looking for wins this weekend to secure finals spots. The SheDevils have had a very successful season only losing 1 game. The seasoned veterans have some unfinished business from last years finals and will hope to go all the way. While the new kids on the block, The Gunners have had a break out season and are looking for a finals birth. Here’s to hoping we have a SheDevils vs Gunners final.
